Problems Accessing Courses

If you can log into eLearning but are having problems accessing a course, there are a few things you can try to remedy the problem. If you are having problems logging into eLearning, try these troubleshooting steps.

If you don't see the class on your My Blackboard page

Classes for each semester will appear under your Blackboard Course List on their official start date. If you are checking for your class before then, it will not appear. If the official start date for your class has passed, but you still cannot see it under your Blackboard Course List, verify through OASIS (accessible via myIPFW) that you are registered for it. If you are registered for the course, contact the Help Desk.

If you see the class on the My Blackboard page but can't open it

Make sure to accept any Java applet security warnings that pop up when you first log in. You can either click Yes to temporarily trust the applet or Always to permanently trust it.

It is also a good idea to perform the browser tune up to make sure you are using a supported browser and that you have your browser configured properly.

You should also make sure you have your pop-up blocker configured properly and search bars uninstalled.

If you're getting a "No Content" message

If you click your class and get an error that "There is no content associate with this course" you will need to contact your instructor and find out if they plan to use Blackboard Vista. Not all instructors use Vista even though all your courses appear in your My Blackboard course list.
