Uploading Multiple Files with WebDAV
WebDAV is a protocol that allows you to easily upload and download files with a drag and drop interface. Initially there are several steps to configure a WebDAV connection to Blackboard Vista but once set up, accessing files in a template or section is easy.
To create a WebDAV connection:
- Log into Blackboard Vista.
- Navigate to the template or section that contains your files.
- Click the File Manager link from Designer Tools on the left side of the screen.
- Click the ActionLinks drop down under the File Manager heading and choose View WebDAV Info.
- Copy (Ctrl + C) the information that appears. The text you are copying is a web address.
- From the Desktop of your computer, double-click My Network Places.
- Double-click Add Network Place.
- Click Next on the wizard.
- Double-click Choose another network location.
- Paste (Ctrl + V) the WebDAV location you copied earlier from Vista into the Internet or network address box.
- Click Next.
- Log in with your Vista username and password when prompted.
- Enter a name for the connection such as W131 Fall 08 Template.
- Click Next and Finish.
- Log in again when prompted.

You now have a WebDAV connection established that will allow you to copy files to and from Vista, move files within Vista, etc.
WARNING: Moving or renaming files in Vista will break the links you have to these files.
At any point if you want to open this connection, double-click the My Network Places icon on your Desktop and double-click the connection you just created.
